According to Fox Sports, the rival Dodgers plan to interview the former Angels outfielder/first baseman for their vacant managerial job. Erstad would replace Don Mattingly, who parted ways with the club this week.

Erstad, now the baseball coach at Nebraska, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1995 MLB Draft by the Angels and had a solid 14-year career in which he played for the Angels, White Sox and Astros. He was a two-time All-Star, a three-time Gold Glove winner and a member of the 2002 Angels squad that won the World Series. He finished his career with a .282/.336/.407 slash line, 124 home runs, 699 RBIs and 179 stolen bases in 1,654 games. 

Erstad, 41, has led the Cornhuskers to a 139-97 record in five seasons.
