The Netflix show’s resident bad boy with a heart of gold starts Season 4 in prison, after being accused of the attempted murder of Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson).
Season 4 quickly gets worse for him, however, when he gets on the wrong side of Jimmy (Ian Tracey). Episode 1 ends in a violent confrontation between the two of them that leaves Brady fighting for his life.
Dan Brady fans can read on to see if the character makes it to the end of Virgin River Season 4. Of course, that means that there are major spoilers ahead for the Netflix show…
Does Brady Get Killed in Virgin River Season 4, Episode 1?
Before we reveal Brady’s fate, here’s a quick recap of how the show gets to the point where he is possibly dead.
Jimmy was introduced in the last season of Virgin River as the right-hand man of Calvin (David Cubitt), the local cannabis farm owner and gang leader. When Brady joins the business after leaving the bar, this causes friction between Brady and Jimmy, who worries that Brady will replace him in the business.
This rivalry continues when they find themselves in prison together. The first time we see Brady in Season 4, the two square up, with Jimmy threatening Brady after Brady gives him and his fellow gang members the cold shoulder.
Later in the premiere, he proves that this wasn’t just a threat – Jimmy jumps Brady, stabbing him in the back. As the episode ends, Brady is seen bleeding out in the yard.
So does Brady die on Virgin River Season 4? In the next episode, we see him taken to hospital. And the good news for fans of the character is – he survives his injuries.
After his prison ordeal, he eventually gets out and away from Jimmy and the other former members of Calvin’s gang. As such, he survives all of Virgin River Season 4.
In fact, the rest of the season is pretty happy for Brady. Brie (Zibby Allen) forces her way into his hospital room and refuses to leave. She also has good news for him – there is now evidence that Brady was wrongly accused thanks to Jack’s memory returning.
Brady’s near-death experience also clarifies Brie’s feelings, and in Season 4 she confesses the full extent of her love for him.
Though there are a lot of steamy scenes for “Brieady” fans to enjoy, the course of true love doesn’t run entirely smoothly. Brie still has to deal with Don, the abusive ex who wants her to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Brie ends Season 4 deciding to press charges on Don, which could seriously dredge up her past trauma and impact on her current love affair in the next season.
Virgin River Seasons 1 to 4 are streaming now on Netflix.
