The FiveThirtyEight approval rating tracker shows that the president’s popularity rose almost two percentage points from a low of 40.1 percent at the end of July to 41.9 percent as of Wednesday evening. Trump’s disapproval rating has also fallen over the past month, despite criticism of his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and the economy’s rebound from related shutdown measures. At the end of July, the president’s disapproval rating stood at a little more than 55 percent, but has since dropped to 53....

As social media platforms continue to place misinformation labels on Trump’s posts, his Facebook feed is thriving. One status update this week attracting more than a million interactions and others frequently topping lists of the most-popular posts on the site. Despite Biden’s victory, Trump has refused to concede. Instead, he directed his lawyers to file legal cases in an attempt to challenge the outcome of the vote and repeatedly asserted—without evidence—that the results were manipulated or fraudulent....

The latest survey from the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) and SSRS found that 37 percent of white Catholics had a favorable view of Trump at the end of May. When the same poll was conducted in March, the president had a 60 percent favorability rating among the demographic—putting him 23 points higher than his position today. Over the whole of last year, Trump’s favorability ranking among white Catholics was 49 percent, or 12 points higher than his ranking last month....

Marvel’s latest superhero epic, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has finally arrived in theaters. In a study published in the May 22 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine, researchers from Harvard University and the University of California, San Diego, looked at the social networks of 12,067 people who participated in the Framingham Heart Study between 1971 and 2003. They found that smokers were far more likely to stop puffing if their spouses, siblings and friends did so. A person’s chances of smoking decreased by 67 percent if a spouse kicked the habit, by 36 percent if a friend did, by 34 percent if a co-worker in a small company did, and by 25 percent if a sibling did....

This is according to senior gameplay designer Andreas Ojerfos, who spoke about the lack of split-screen in the game to Metro and explained why Wolfenstein: Youngblood does not have split-screen. According to Ojerfos, it would have been “great” to include split-screen in Wolfenstein: Youngblood and that many of the developers at MachineGames would’ve liked to see it implemented....

In a video on TikTok with over 4.5 million views, Ora the three-year-old borzoi dog plays the part of the “Sneep Sheep,” a cosplay that owner Jacob Chattman would “recommend that everyone get.” Panning from the crib cradling his 13-day-old son Locke and with his wife sleeping, the camera turns to the “sneep sheep.” Chattman is a screenwriter and actor from Arizona, and he has been delighting the internet with videos of his beloved dogs since gaining fame on video-sharing app Vine nearly eight years ago....

The pooch switched on the appliance while it was on a worktop at the home in Stanford-Le-Hope in South-East England. According to the Essex Fire Service, a packet of bread rolls that were inside the microwave then caught fire, causing a small blaze. The owner of the home was not in at the time, but spotted smoke emitting from the kitchen using a camera feed on his phone.
